Glossary:
Blue Peter is one of British television's longest running programmes, regularly reaching 5-6 million children and teenagers. It takes its name from the blue and white flag hoisted by a ship leaving port on a voyage. The originator of the programme wanted this to suggest the voyage of discovery that it would provide for its young viewers. The programming has a magazine format that involves a combination of studio presentation, interview, and demonstration with additional film report items.

Episode One: Parralox

Patsy has Botox injections to freeze her wrinkles. Edina has been asked to go on ‘Richard and Judy’. Mother has become a silver surfer and is discovering the wonders of the internet. Meanwhile, Saffron is trying to get a job with New Labour so she can leave home forever. Edina ends up very drunk and agrees to an injection of the Botox and ends up paralyzed, therefore not being able to go on ‘Richard and Judy’ she is replaced by Katy Grin.

Episode Two: Fish Farm

Edina and Patsy rock on at a Marilyn Manson concert. Edina wakes up the next morning to find that there is a handsome young gardener. It turns out that Patsy knew his older brother and because his is rich they hatch a horrible plan to ‘beget the son and heir’. Edina flirts hideously to get what she wants, and to her horror finds out that not only is he broke but he lives on a fish farm.

Episode Three: Paris

Patsy is in front of the camera again for a generational photo shoot. Patsy has Erin O’Connor and Edina regrettably has Saffron. Patsy refuses to cooperate with the photographer and still insists that she is 42. Meanwhile, can Saffron survive Edina’s idea of sightseeing?

Episode Four: Donkey

Edina, once again is in a body crisis. In a desperate attempt to be thin she tries a detoxification diet and some military exercise. Edina actually gives up alcohol and cigarettes in attempt to lose weight, which she does. Giving the impression that they are actually closer than we think, God and the Devil turn up in Edina’s dreams to discuss a world where the Barbie Doll reigns supreme. Saffron has lunch with an old school friend who is now an actor. He is interested in Saffron’s play so long as it will further his career. Patsy is experimenting with some hairstyle variety and tries to live life without her trademark sixties forelock.

Episode Five: Small Opening

Saffron’s first play ‘Self Raising Flower’ which is based on her young life opens at a local theatre. Edina’s only concern is that the woman playing her will be fat and that the play will portray her as a bad mother, which of course she is. Edina and Patsy are invited and they turn up only to see what Saffron has written about them.

Episode Six: Menopause

Patsy cracks her wrist and Saffron takes her to the doctor and they discover that she has osteoporosis. In Edina and Patsy’s best interests, Saffron organizes a meeting for the local Menopausals Anonymous group in their house. Edina’s businesses are folding and Claudia Bing is sniffing around.

6 x 30mins.
